Meredith dreamt of becoming a journalist since her childhood. After completing her graduation in 1975, she stepped into broadcasting the same year itself. She started her career as a news announcer for the radio channel WORC. Following that, she started working as a local reporter on a TV channel which ultimately helped her to make her way to WCBS-TV as an investigative reporter in New York City. She had to struggle for almost 6-7 years before getting the first breakthrough in 1982 when she managed to make a place in CBS newsroom. She remained with CBS News for next one decade and garnered massive publicity as the co-anchor of the show ‘CBS Morning News’.
